A child’s brain from birth to age five is where they absorb much of the world they will live in for the rest of their lives. Making the most of this time is key is in raising a smart child.
The best Nutrition is also a major factor in developing your child’s brain to it’s full potential.
In their early infancy is when many of the neurons will develop, the more cells and synapse connections developed, the faster your child’s brain will be familiar with new concepts.
Using black and white colors like chessboards in a child’s infancy can enhance their sense of sight and color significantly. The more you stimulate your child’s senses (sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing) the more complex the interconnections will be and the more intelligent your child will become.
Be in contact with your child. Science has revealed that babies who lacked touch, hugs and love have decreased brain development than those who are, grow less and are depressed. One on one interaction give the child a base from which his higher thinking skills develop.
Give attention to your Child. Come down to your child’s level, kneel in front of them and pay attention to what they say; doing this encourages the child’s language development.
Read to your child even if they don’t understand, it can develop their interest in reading, which will help in school and their future as an adult.
Reading helps your child grow their experiences of fictional and non fictional worlds and can increase the horizons of their imagination.
Let them play. A balance between work and play is ideal for a youngster; learning never stops and the opportunity to learn the RIGHT things should never be lost. Playing with others will help them develop their social skills, only through practice will they acquire them. They’ll learn team play, and collaboration if taught the right way.
Make Exercise part of your life and the child’s life. Let them run around, exercise comes naturally to humans. Physical activity increases blood flow to the brain and develops brains cells; if you build an atmosphere of activity in your home especially when your child is young, this will help develop their brain and their learning potential.
Create a musical atmosphere. Make music an essential part of your child’s life. Piano is a useful instrument to start with which can make learning other instruments much easier.
Listening to music lowers stress but learning to play an instrument is huge for the child’s development of their spatial temporal reasoning as well as their proportional thinking and is a foundation for their math learning in the future.
Imitation & Games. Read and do things in front of your child, let your child imitate you by reading, creating music and playing smart games.
I they like the computer, find brain building games for them like puzzle games, and others which teach them math, science, reading and writing.
Have the right Food around. Giving the right fuel for his body and brain is very important for their prolonged attention span and awareness and over all health.
A protein rich diet which includes, beans, vegetables of all kinds, chicken, meat, potatoes, salads and fruits as well as fibre, whole grains, calcium, vitamin D, iron and carbohydrates will keep your child from developing ADD or hyper activity.
The chemical reactions that these healthy foods create in the body engage the brain and keep the body stabilized.
These types of fresh foods are given in unruly youth centers for badly behaved teens, so for your child it is exceptionally important.
Notes
Never put your child down especially when learning. Try new fun and engaging angles for them to understand new concepts. If the teacher is inept so will the student, the teacher must change the angle of the way something is taught.
Even if your child is already smart, you should keep encouraging this, their self esteem is something that should be always developed.
As they get older, just being knowledgeable on many things isn’t enough, as humans we require being well rounded to succeed in all aspects of our lives. Balance is the key to achieving highly in all areas of life so provide your child with a balanced life style.
