If you’re planning on asking one out, it doesn’t need to be an awkward or weird moment, it can be an enlightening experience.

If you’ve grown up knowing how to respect people, delight people with humor and be an all round likable person, asking anyone to prom shouldn’t be a problem.

If you relax and don’t take yourself too seriously, life can be an exciting adventure of discovery and beauty. Be kind, and observe the person’s personality so you know how to ask them.

Step by Step

Find somewhere you can ask them, with the right mood and feel. It can be somewhere quiet or somewhere with music in the background.

If your nerd is a fan of science, you could impersonate Albert Einstein, dress like him or quote something he said, whatever will appeal to your nerd.

Bring your nerd to the place where you want to ask them the question. Use lord of the ring style cards, or maps, or props of any kind that will interest them. Something harry potter-esque could be a good tool to use too.

Ask your question with confidence. If your nerd is really into different nerdy film r book dialect you can look them up and write or ask your question with this dialect. If they are Trekkie enthusiast, use Klingon, gilmorisms if they like Lorelai, and

iambic pentameter if they love shakespeare.

If your nerd already has a date don’t worry, you can choose your next nerd to ask. If they say yes, then you got your nerd to go to the prom with you! Congrats!

Tips

Be cute and fun, don’t overdo it though. Get your point across but don’t be too intense if you don’t want to scare your nerd away.

Make sure your nerd is really a nerd and doesn’t just look like one before you consider asking them in a nerdy style.

Don’t be in character all the time, you may come off creepy or too intense, just act yourself and be cool.
